Kannapolis Intermediate School: a place we want to be,
a place to learn and grow, a place of value and respect.
Together we will connect, engage and
prepare our students for a diverse world.
Kannapolis Intermediate School opened in 2005 and enrolls approximately 890 students in grades five and six.
Intermediate School received an IMPACT grant in 2008 and 2009 to focus
on collaboration among teachers and support staff. The IMPACT grant also
encouraged 21st Century learning models by providing technology tools
to enhance teaching and learning. Through this grant, we provided ongoing
and just-in-time professional development to strengthen instruction.
Community partnerships are also vital to KIS. We appreciate the support of Trinity Methodist Church, Centerview Baptist Church, The Rotary Club, NCRC, and the YMCA.
aim for this school year is to provide our students with a strong
education that will prepare them for future careers, such as those
offered at the NC Research Campus.
