5th and 6th grades went on separate filed trips to the Amazing Maize Maze in Rural Hall, NC. We went on this particular field trip because the teachers wanted the students to learn how to work together as a team. We also went on this trip to help and make our brains think harder and think about finding a way out and all the pieces.
We went on a school day! It was October 10 when 5th graders went, and it was October 17 when the 6th graders went.
We made extra time to interview Jackson. These are the four questions we have asked:
“What is one positive of working as a team during a field trip?”
“One positive was that we all worked together as a team to make decisions.”
“What was the best part of the maze?”
“The exciting feeling you get when you find a mailbox and a kernel of knowledge”
“What is one thing you would change and one thing you would keep the same in the maze?”
“One thing I would change would be that my group would be first to get out of the maze. One thing I would keep would be that I would like to be in the same group.”
“If you could pick the next theme of the corn maze, what would it be?”
“It would be a beach theme, with towels, the ocean, and people doing summer activities.”
Overall, this field trip was a chance to learn teamwork and finding a way out of that maze!
