EAFK Knighting Ceremony

EAFK Knighting Ceremony
Posted on 11/24/2014

Today, the twenty first of November, we had our first Early Act First Knight ceremony.  This was made possible by the Rotary Club.  The ceremony took place in our gym.

Each month there is a different character trait that our students strive to represent.  At the end of the month, each homeroom elects someone in their class to represent that trait.

At the end of each quarter, each elected student is “knighted.”  This means they are given a medal for their good deeds.  This quarter our traits were respect, friendliness, and honesty.

I, Kayla, was recognized for the virtue of honesty.  If you get voted by your class for a virtue, this is what will happen.  Your teacher will ask you to go to the music room.  Then you will line up by pods and go into the gym.  You will go in the back way and sit in a row of chairs off to the side.  When your teacher calls your name, you go and kneel down.  Then you get a medal, and if you are in the sixth grade, they knight you.
