Hello My Name Is...
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year at Kannapolis Intermediate School!
This is my second year at KIS and I am excited for the start of another school year. I love teaching fifth graders and cannot wait to work with your student. I did my student teaching in a fifth grade class at an intermediate school and am familiar with the differences that students may face being in this new environment. I am looking forward to learning many things from my students.
Feel free to contact me by email email@example.com or by school phone at (704) 932-4161.
Colleges Attended/Degrees Earned:
Alfred University, Child Psychology, May 2007
UNC Charlotte, Elementary Education (K-6) Certificate, June 2015
UNC Charlotte, Masters of Arts in Teaching Elementary Education, December 2016
What we are studying:
We are reading non-fiction stories about the Revolutionary War and the people who were involved. In math we are working on fractions and will continue reviewing everything from the beginning of the year. Our weather unit has begun and will continue for a few weeks. This is the biggest science unit in 5th grade.
I believe that each student learns differently but that all students can learn and succeed in the right environment.
Things parents/guardians can do to help:
Weekly papers are sent home every Tuesday, in an orange folder that is to be signed and returned.
Agendas should come home every day and will only need to be signed on Fridays.
Please read with your children 20 minutes per night.
